Feb. 6 - 7: Woodlands, marshes and the Serengeti Plains of Ndutu, Tanzania

Another lazy afternoon with very full stomachs!

Lappet-faced Vulture.  Sort of
pretty, in a scary kinda way.

This is what we look like twice a day.

Our first glimpse of Eland.  A large, noble
looking antelope.  You'll see more later.

We found this mated pair of Secretary
Birds working on their nest at the
top of an acacia tree.

50 or more Weaver birds burst from this tree .
A number of hanging Weaver nexts built already.

Male Lion waits out the heat under
an acacia bush.

This is the view from the porch of
 our Ndutu bungelow.

These Blotched Genets (related to mongoose) are
 noctural and would come out each evening to walk
around the rafters and watch us eat our dinner.  It's hard
not to want one of these cute little guys as a pet!
